This winter Marmot Basin in Jasper Nation Park has not one, but two new lifts opening. The Paradise High Speed Quad (HSQ) and the School House Triple Chair will be in operation opening day, November 11th.
The Paradise HSQ runs parallel to the Canadian Rockies Express HSQ, the longest HSQ in the Canadian Rockies. The new Paradise HSQ will provide access to the upper portion of the mountain, close to where the old Paradise Triple chairlift use to be located. The Paradise HSQ will transport riders from the intersection of Old Road and Roll Out to the top of the mountain in just 4.6 minutes.
The old Paradise Triple chairlift has been relocated and refurbished. Hence to be known as the School House Triple Chair the lift will now provide access to the lower portion of the mountain, and benefit novice riders.
The Marmot Basin staff have certainly has been busy over the past five months leading up to 2011-2012 season. With two new chairlifts opening this winter and the recently added Canadian Rockies Express HSQ it’s definitely worth planning a trip to Marmot Basin this season to ride some world-class terrain.
