NIOTA, Tenn., March 28, 2012 - FITS Sock Co. with Full Contact FitTM is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s (SVSEF) Janss Pro-Am Classic. Top competing alpine racers in all divisions will feel the difference in a perfectly engineered performance ski sock with Full Contact FitTM. As part of FITS Sock Co.’s involvement with the event, FITS socks are included in the official race bag that participants receive.
Proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s (SVSEF) Janss Pro-Am Classic (Sun Valley, Idaho, April 5-7, 2012), FITS Sock Co. is providing the group with 250 premeir ski performance socks.
This is the first year for FITS to participate in the15th annual Janss Pro-Am. “We are honored to have been selected as the official race sock. These are the training grounds for today’ s Olympians and we are there to see them win. Competing and training takes both physical and mental strength, and all the best gear possible. We know this weekend they will feel the difference all the way down to their socks!” Jeff Seldin, Rocky Mountain representative of sales, FITS Sock, Co.
With Full Contact Fit TM, FITS promises better race performances for the week for these three reasons: The Dynamic Toe CupTM, Heel LockTM and Full Contact CuffTM all control the most variables to ensure the right fit. These three critical elements translate to better performance for an athlete, pro or participant. FITS is the only company to offer up to five size groups because with the right size, socks won’t chafe or rub.
From the top of the toes to under the ball of the foot, the Dynamic Toe CupTM conforms to the entire area leaving no excess material and no seams to interfere with comfort or performance. The Heel LockTM is a deep, anatomically correct heel pocket that anchors the sock in place, preventing movement down onto the foot. The Full Contact CuffTM holds the sock up onto the lower leg; it accomplishes this with enough surface area along with a trapezoidal shape to match the shape of the leg, with the right amount of compression and stretch to allow it stay in place on the leg while the foot is in motion.
The Pro-Am honors former Olympic ski team member Bill Janss, and benefits the SVSEF and their athletes. The Janss Pro-Am Classic mixes a Pro Racer with five “citizen” skiers or snowboarders of all skill levels to create six member teams that compete for prizes (including best costume) and titles over the course of three days. The racers will be handicapped, so everyone has an equal chance to win.
FITS supports local events because FITS is local. FITS socks are made here in America, in the Niota, Tennessee facility. They provide local employment for more than 160 local people. Founded in 1902, they are one of the oldest continuously run family mills still in existence. Like the heritage of the SVSEF, both are locally owned and operated, and understand quality events and quality gear.
The SVSEF (http://www.svsef.org/default.aspx) provides an average of $100,000 in annual scholarship assistance and is recognized as one of the nation’s top winter sports programs. By requiring high character and academic standards, the SVSEF strives to provide the best athletic and learning environments possible. This year there is either a current SVSEF athlete or SVSEF alumni on every single discipline of the U.S. Ski Team, including the Snowboard Team. The SVSEF is also in negotiations to be the official Olympic Nordic training facility and on itsway to reaching their goal of sending six SVSEF Gold Team athletes to the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The Janss Pro-Am helps makes all of this possible.
The Janss Pro-Am classic will be held April 5-7, 2012. For more information on the race and the foundation, please visit: http://www.svsef.org/
