Whistler, B.C. – The TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival begins April 13th, and is sure to redefine the ‘unlucky’ reputation that Friday the 13th is known for. The 5-star TTR Snowboarding World Tour event, Monster Energy’s The Shred Show, welcomes a vast array of talented athletes to the slopes to start training for the TTR ranked Big Hip, TTR ranked Slopestyle, Boarderstyle and Mogul Duel competitions. There will be a special appearance by some off-snow Monster Energy dare-devils, who have to be seen to be believed, so be sure to get to Skier’s Plaza on Saturday 14th for the Big Hip to check out all the action.
The Dudes, an indie-rock band from Calgary, will warm up the mainstage for the rest of the bands over the following 10 days, and amp up the crowd in Skier’s Plaza.
The State of the ART gallery opening is the first night-time event of TWSSF 2012, and is a free entry party held from 8pm in the Grand Foyer of the Conference Centre. The SOTA opening party features live music, incredible art and the who’s who of the art and fashion world.
