LAKE PLACID, NEW YORK (January 19, 2012) – Mikael Kingsbury of Deux Montagnes, Que. won his fourth consecutive FIS World Cup mogul event here today. Kingsbury’s gold capped a three-medal day for Canada.

Kingsbury took top spot in the men’s super final with a score of 25.32; he was followed by Patrick Deneen of the US at 24.00. Philippe Marquis took the bronze with a score of 21.86. It was the first world cup podium for the 21 year-old from Quebec City.
In fact, it was a banner day for the entire Canadian men’s team here, as all six members made it to the finals. Alex Bilodeau of Rosemere, Que. finished the day in fifth; Marc-Antoine Gagnon of Terrebonne, Que. was sixth; Eddie Hicks of Langley, B.C. was ninth and Cedric Rochon of St. Sauveur, Que. rounded out the Canadian men in 16th spot.

In women’s action, Justine Dufour-Lapointe earned her third-straight silver medal. The 17-year-old from Montreal scored 22.85. Olympic champion Hannah Kearney of the US earned the gold -- her 12th-straight World Cup victory -- at 23.52. Nikola Sudova of the Czech Republic was third at 22.78.
